you have shared with me your script. And it sounds like you are having all your shots on Turn Island. Have you given any thought to your opening scene location. I was thinking shoving off the dock at friday harbor might make a good intro? other boats, people, fishermen, etc...before leaving civilization? Main character reminiscing or going through some thoughts in his head etc...

Though it's not the *opening* scene, I did think about getting *some* of that just so there're options when editing.
Since Young Eric departs on his trip in the mid '70's, any shots of FH will have to be done carefully to avoid capturing more recent boat designs. (Yeah, count on me to make it more difficult by whinging about continuity)
